We met Onion on a recent visit to Iraq, she had been plucked from the streets by a kind local family. One of her back legs was badly injured and subsequent xrays showed that she had a break in her pelvis and that her femur was broken.

Unfortunately vet care in Iraq is very limited and there was no local vet that was able to do the surgery required to fix her leg and we were not equipped to do the surgery ourselves.

We arranged for Onion to be taken to Jordan where she could see a vet to see if they would be able to do her surgery but sadly the vet in Jordan was also unable to do the surgery due to only having access to injectable anesthesia which would not have provided enough time to carry out the procedure. So, for the time being Onion is being cared for by our rescue partner in Jordan and is receiving daily pain relief.

Despite her injury Onion is doing really well, she plays with the other cats and gets around well but we cannot leave her permanently on pain relief so when she arrives in the UK we will get her surgery done.

We are looking for a home where the family will be willing to undertake the care she will need after her surgery and will keep her indoors, although they say cats have nine lives we are not prepared to let Onion risk her remaining eight lives! Onion can be homed with other cats or dogs and with kind, gentle children.

If you feel you can offer Onion a loving home please click the button below. Please note that Onion will not arrive in the UK for approx 3 months.

Adoption Fee of £200 applies.
